Dr. Rachel Varghese was born in Hyderabad, India and accepted Jesus Christ as her savior at the age of 12. Since then the Lord gave her a burning desire to reach the lost with the gospel of Jesus Christ. She is a medical doctor with specialization in Obstetrics and Gynecology. She practiced in Saudi Arabia as a chief consultant for 12 years, where the Lord gave her the opportunity to share the good news with numerous Arab nationals. She returned to India in 1998 when she set up a charity clinic in Bangalore, India under the sponsorship of Proclamation Ministries, USA. In addition to providing free medical care, numerous lives were touched by the emotional and spiritual healing only Christ can provide. In 2002, she immigrated to the US with her family and worked as a senior research administrator at UT Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas, Texas. During her tenure she was able to foster close professional relationships with numerous research scientists, administrators, doctors, including four Nobel prize Laureates and shared the Love of Christ openly. Dr. Rachel Varghese took early retirement from UTSW in June of 2013, as an act of faith and surrender to the divine call for ministry. Since then the Lord has been faithfully opening doors for her to minister to women and go on medical missions to different parts of the world.
